The Felix family are experts in barro bruñido (burnished clay pottery), continuing a 500-year tradition rooted in their Purépecha heritage. Each vessel is hand-molded from local clay, stone-polished to achieve its distinctive luster, and decorated with natural pigments with nature-inspired motifs.

These nationally awarded artisans are recognized as masters of Mexican folk art, preserving heritage with their craft.

How to use

Cure before use: Submerge the piece completely in water for 20 minutes to allow the clay to absorb moisture and seal naturally. After soaking, rinse well multiple times until water comes out clear.
Clean: Rinse occasionally with water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasives to preserve the natural clay finish.
Dry: Let the dish air dry completely before storing. This keeps the clay strong and prevents moisture buildup.
Avoid Prolonged Water Exposure: Barro is a natural, porous material — while durable, it’s best not to leave it soaking in water in the sink for long periods.
Handle with Care: Each piece is handmade and unique.
