Elena and her family continue the Purépecha tradition of barro bruñido (burnished clay) in Huancito, Michoacán, where pottery is both art and everyday life. From digging local clay to hand-painting fine lines and polishing each piece with a smooth stone, their process reflects generations of care and technique.
