Brand details

These natural household items are made by an indigenous-owned cooperative dedicated to the sustainable and artisanal production of brushes and sponges from vegetable fibers, such as agave henequén, agave lechuguilla, and ixtle de maguey. For over 25 years, the community has produced personal and home care products while employing local artisans, mostly women.

The products are made using 100% natural fibers obtained from different parts of Mexico. Each item is handmade by artisans, carvers, and weavers, creating a bond of a sustainable economy. They also take great care to source raw materials sustainably: the wood is upcycled from furniture makers’ scraps, and fibers are harvested sustainably according to ancestral traditions that have allowed agave plants to flourish for millennia.

How to use

Use with your favorite soap. Enjoy gentle exfoliation and improved lather. Rinse well after each use and allow to dry fully in between uses. Fully compostable when you are done with this sponge.

Love it!

I really love the agave sponge. At first it was really rough but I contacted the volverde team and told me to let it sit in hot water for 5 minutes to soften it up. That did the trick. Works really well and the little handle was a great addition.

Scrubby and easy to use

I am trying to move away from so much plastic and saw this and knew I had to try it.I love how much it feels like it's exfoliating plus cleansing. It felt like a body scratch plus cleansing! Absolutely love it.

Deep Relaxation

I was gifted this sponge and thought it would be abrasive like all the ones I've tried before.
This is THE MOST incredible sponge for circulation! It even gave me relief from my peripheral neuropathy ( legs) when nothing else has!
The circulation increase caused a profound relaxation response & simultaneously a calm, invigorating feeling!

Perfect exfoliation and a little piece of mexico in my shower!

I LOVE this sponge. It gives me just the right amount of exfoliation, which is clutch especially in winter. It provides just the right amount of exfoliation (not too soft, not too rough). I find it so soothing and will never go back to traditional sponges. This reminds me of Mexico and I love it. I also really appreciate the handle detail - I use it to hang up to dry after each shower.
