Meliora is a woman-owned, Chicago-based company whose primary focus is to create products that work and are people and planet friendly. The founder, Kate, created the company while studying for a Masters in Environmental Engineering. She wanted to understand the ingredients in her everyday household cleaning products, but soon realized that most weren’t even listed on the packaging. Wanting to build a company that was rooted in simple ingredients and was honest about how products are made, Meliora began.

Meliora believes products should have all ingredients listed on the packaging so more people can understand the household products they use. We love that Meliora is so meticulous about choosing ingredients that are safe for the home, body, and planet. Their home cleaning and laundry products are MADE SAFE certified, ensuring they're as friendly for your home and the planet as possible. Meliora is highly rated by the The Environmental Working Group (EWG) and the Whole Foods Market Eco-Scale.

Beyond their high-quality products and commitment to the environment, Meliora is committed to social causes. They are B Corp Certified and a 1% for the Planet business, donating 2% of sales to environmental nonprofits. Their partner of choice is Women’s Voices for the Earth—a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating toxic chemicals from products through corporate responsibility. They are also committed to paying their employees a living wage as part of their commitment to sustainability.
