Amahu was founded in Murrieta, California, by Mayra Cortes Bugarin—a powerhouse, talented Latina who immigrated to the US from Mexico. While Mayra graduated with a degree in business administration, she found her calling in soap making and entrepreneurship. After making cold-process soaps and receiving positive feedback from friends and family, she took her budding business to local farmer's markets. There, her products received countless enthusiastic responses. She now has a line of over 20 luxury, handcrafted soaps, body lotions, balms, serums, and other skincare products.

Mayra is not only inspired by creating beautiful, luxurious soaps, but she is also passionate about sustainability. She makes her products with all-natural ingredients and uses eco-friendly packaging, as well as reusable containers.
